Who the hell is this guy?

Fair question.

I grew up in rural west-central Scotland listening to the Eagles, Billy Joel and Paul Simon. I dabbled with the clarinet at school, but when I saw Muse play New Born’ on Top of the Pops, I knew it was guitar for me.

After teaching myself from magazines for a few years, I attended North Glasgow College where my love for music broadened and I set aside my desires for rock superstardom and looked towards a career as a sideman playing for Michael Jackson. Unfortunately for him, this wasn’t to be. :( Instead I ended up cutting my teeth with the musical Thriller Live, with which I toured round the world first as a guitar player and subsequently as Musical Director.

I then spent 9 years in London, working extensively in its prestigious West End as well as sidemanning with an abundance of pop and rock royalty - just like I always dreamed.

During this time I also became of core member of the team who creates The Mr Thing Show, and I have since become their foremost short-form parody jinglist and vegetable punner. I really found my niche.

Now residing in Glasgow’s Southside where I compose, arrange and record from my home studio, whilst travelling frequently to London and internationally as and when work requires. Most of my time on the road these days is spent with my showband Gatsby, for whom I’m arranger-in-chief, MD and guitarist.
